How to Donate to SDS-Canada

Shwachman-Diamond Syndrome Canada was incorporated in 1998 as a non-profit charitable foundation. Its founding members are families and friends of children diagnosed with SDS. Our main goal is simple. We want to give these children the gift of a normal, healthy life. This means education, support for families and research...and we need your help.

On-line:

Donors who wish to donate on-line via credit card can do so through the website which provides this service for a number of Canadian charities. The CanadaHelps.org website will issue your tax receipt and send 96% of your donation to SDS-Canada. Unlike direct donation, CanadaHelps.org will keep 4% of your donation for expenses and overhead.

By Mail or through the United Way:

You may send a cheque, money order or authorization for payment through your credit card Visa, Mastercard or Amex directly to the address listed below.

If you donate to the United Way through payroll deduction, you can have contributions go directly to Shwachman-Diamond Syndrome Canada. United Way offers a Donors Choice program. Ask your employer for the designated choice form, indicate on the bottom of the form in the space allotted that you want your contribution directed to the addess below.

SDS-Canada is staffed entirely by volunteers, so we are able to keep operating costs low so that money raised can be used for the best value; over 90% of funds raised go directly to research. The remainder goes into resources for members (eg. information booklets, newsletters) and administrative costs.
